It's been interesting, to say the least, to watch the televised pronouncements of the few, of why the Health Care Bill will save decrease costs, save the economy and better the taxpayer, especially the older taxpayer. I can only sum up the arguments with this-
Clearly, the most ardous thing to rationalize is the clearly indisputable which everyone has chosen to ignore. - Brigid

What? Are you talking about this indisputable fact: 'Why should we be forced to pay for the costs of other people’s irresponsibility?'
That one?
ermmm... Brigid? Did you just post a political statement on your blog? =)
The same people who administer SS and Medicare are going to reduce health care costs.
Yeah, right.
We shall see where this ugly thing will go. It is to no good end. But I think it will depend on how much and how well those that can remembers the constitution and the bill of rights. My bible says "when you have done all, stand." Stand for what you beleive in , stand for what is right. Our founding fathers said that God gave us our rights and now man intends on taking them away. We must search ourselves and do what we beleive we must do. May god bless you and your families.

If this bill is passed, it will likely mean financial ruin for me and Mr. Greenthumb. I've had a knot in my stomach all weekend.

Well put Brigid.
Am fear a bhios a’ riarachadh na maraig, bidh an ceann reamhar eige fhèin.
So much for "We the people...". We have entrusted our future to a group of 500+ horse thieves, all with their hand out like a hotel bellhop lookin' for a tip, not a brain cell among them and absolutely no sense of responsibility. The men who fought and died for us to have this Republic would be mortified.
To continue...I have spent the last thirteen years since my divorce putting my life back together. I have four daughters and six grandsons and do not ever want to be a burden to them. I also work three people besides myself. If this bill passed I will lay my guys off and slowly back out of buisness. I will also sign my belongings over to my children to own nothing and just find a hole to crawl of in till I'm needed. I do not know this country that we are becoming nor do I want the stench of it on me. Beaks my heart that we ended up here.I pray that someone with more foresight than me can see a way out of this gator hole.

My introduction to socialized healthcare came in 1992 at a client’s house outside of London.
Before dinner I was introduced to his two sons and the eldest one was getting ready to attend dental school in the coming months.
I congratulated the young man and told him that he certainly chose a profession that would pay him well. He looked at his mom and his mom looked back at him as if to say, “Go ahead son, tell Mr. Crawler”.
He then replied, “Sir, dentists aren’t compensated as much in England as American dentists are because here we have the government operated National Health Service”.
Every time I hear a political rascal endorsing socialized healthcare, I think of that kid.

One her way to the House, Nancy Pelosi and her entourage, decided to walk through the protesters rather than use the underground tunnel that she normally uses from her office to the Capitol. The was an upright finger to the people of this nation.
She was booed as Pelosi and her guards pushed through the crowd.
If Pelosi and dems pass that piece of garbage, it isn't over yet.
Fox is interviewing a "moderate" dem who isn't happy about how this entire process is being played out. He said it will split the democrat party come the elections in the fall. The disaffected dems will either vote for a 'pub or for a 3rd party candidate.
And if I just say NO!
I closed my business last August, and sold my Condo. My rolling home goes where I tell it. Find me as.h.les.
See Ya
Brigid, I know that because of your professional life, you have to be very sensitive politically. I don't. I posted my feelings VERY clearly today. July 4th, 1776.
"...the clearly indisputable which everybody had chosen to ignore."
The situational ethics which the world now insists is the only way to go, disputes the notion of absolute truth. As you said, they've chosen to ignore the truth
Romans 1:25 says, "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie...", just as hamyheadmp points out, above.
The men who fought and died for us to have this Republic would be mortified.
They're spinning so fast that they're probably setting of seismographs.

The political apathy of this country is what turned these dangerous children loose with the reins of government.
And it's not over by a long shot.
A very good time to go GALT.
I haven't commented on your blog in so very long. But I wanted to put my two sense worth into this and say how against this I am. I HATE whenever someone says that they are going to be praying for the irresponsible. It's not always about how irresponsible the person is, it's about their wages and what they can afford. It seems to narrow minded to me. That is not only what the health care bill is for or about. I do not see any good that can come out of this at all.
Lorimor, remember also they couldn't even run a house of ill repute as a profit, and Morris County Feedstore I believe the apathy of the voters actually started a long time ago when we elected our first hippie to office. Now their children are in charge or in office and it will ruin this nation if we let it.
I am not sure that the views of a Canuck are germane to your discussion. Having said that, here goes.
Firstly, America cannot have the 'universal' health care system that Canada has. And ... I'm not sure that's what you want. There simply is no way to blend employer sponsored health care with a companion government paid plan.
Secondly, the lies, obscurities, cover ups, etc. must sicken any intelligent and caring American. For example, I watched as Dems proclaimed deficit reduction as a plus for this health reform. The deficit was the one projected/created by the original proposals.
Thirdly, health care is about delivery ... and where (and when) are the new 15,000 doctors going to come from. Is someone going to wave a magic wand over your med schools ... and Shazaam ... bunches of shiny MDs?
Fourthly, even I can see the mandatory participation as being so unAmerican that it gives cause to weeping for what will become.
Fifthly, as I think it was AD who said it, all the efficiency of the Post Office and the compassion of the IRS.
This so-called reform will ruin your economy, bringing the rest of your trading partners in the West down with you. I know ... I know ... that's not a primary concern but for those of us who have looked to, admired and praised the USA, Sunday was a bitter, bitter pill to swallow.
Regards.
