The only bright spot this dreary Monday Morning is that I know in November I will know for sure if this is a Nation I can respect any more. If the American Electorate toss out all the Dems then there may be a chance. Short of that, Im going to have to accept that the United States of America is a failed experiment in limited Government and Representative Republicanism. :(
Looking toward the future, though, it will be interesting to see if the conservative resurgence can keep up steam... and I don't just mean until this November for the mid-terms, or even until 2012.
I don't think we'll have trouble keeping the angry fires of the tea party type movements burning when we've got an enemy right in our faces. The REAL test of our mettle will come after we've thrown the current batch of condescending bastards our on their ears - and we're tempted to sit back and pat ourselves on the back.
I hope that I never forget how I feel right now. I hope that I'm consistent in the applications of my principals, and that I hold "my" politician's feet to the same fire when necessary.
The one-day RINO culling season in Florida is August 24. For anyone reading this who lives down here, this is your chance to express anger a little early -- our spineless Governor has no business being in the Senate.
Here is something that happened in our state (Idaho) prior to the "passing" of the unconstitutional "health bill".
Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter on Wednesday (March 17) became the first state chief executive to sign a measure requiring his attorney general to sue Congress if it passes health reforms that force residents to buy insurance.
Similar legislation is pending in 37 other states nationwide.
Otter, a Republican, already warned U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in December that Idaho was considering litigation if health reform went through. He signed the bill during his first such public ceremony of the 2010 Legislature.
"What the Idaho Health Freedom Act says is that the citizens of our state won't be subject to another federal mandate or turn over another part of their life to government control," Otter said.
Ditto! Hope we make it till november. Brigid, I wish you well in your search for a new place and hope that it is a place of refuge and peace. i thought I had found mine but now realize that I should have went further back in the boonies.Have a blessed week. mwp

It is a dark, dark day for Constitutionalists and all those who love the true freedom which that document guarantees.
Agreed and the pressure does need to stay on well beyond 2012.
I must confess that when I saw Barkley's picture following the title I was thinking he's already anticipating pheasant season opening until I scrolled further. I just picked up my new combo hunting and fishing license after work so I was in that frame of mind.:-)
I fear what may become of us Conservatives / Constitutionalists /Libertarians if we do sweep these treasonous politicians out of office in November. It seems that the easy times always dull our resolve and muddle our principles. I would love to see us break the cycle. For now, though, November is a universe away.
We need to face the battle at hand. It's too late to prepare. The battle is here ... it's not at the perimeter ... it's inside the wire and all around us. We can't sit and wait for November. We need to react in many different ways and each of us needs to be creative. The key is to change minds ... an almost insurmountable task when given the last half century or so of Government Schooling. Some have already resorted to acts of civil disobedience while others are planning for November. Wherever your starting point lies, pour your heart and soul into it. The dying flames of our Republic depend on it.
Does anyone believe come November things will be different? We are on a downward spiral that will most likely continue on to its historical conclusion.

I put Barkley's quote on my Facebook.
Well put. LOL
It will be a November to remember.

Wonder if we should hold a wake.
It can't get here soon enough.

Time will tell...

Brigid, Barkley's got more sense than 60% of the people in this country. Come to think of it, that describes every dog I've ever met.
Any way to persuade Barkley to run?
I'm with Barkley...
Barkley does NOT look pleased. Politicians are advised to duck & cover. Better yet, they should just leave.
Mitch McConnell said, in effect, passing Obamacare is one thing. Getting all the new bureaucracies in it funded is another.
Repeal the Bill! Vote for no one who won't make this pledge.
Apparently Barkley has a better understanding of the Constitution than those that voted yes.
I'm with Barkley. I think the first thing I said when I saw that was "I think I need more ammo...."
Its going to be an interesting November.
Barkley is absolutely right and he should run for office.
Word Verification: jected...what those idiots in congress are gonna get in November.
Here's a good spot to see how your Rep voted and whether your incumbent deserves another term... I know mine doesn't

Amen, Barkley!
Good doggy, GOOD DOGGY :-) Agreed!!!

History repeats itself. Always has, always will.
