Bore Patch posted about the first signs of Spring this weekend. JayG says tractors, Borepatch says the fiddlehead. It seems like you notice it all at once. The colors of Spring, the pinks, lavenders and the soft greens, burnished golden yellow and whites.
I left my new house where I'm hanging my hat until the log home is built, and drove into the city to meet Joanna for coffee and took these pictures as I left my new neighborhood.

As I neared the city it became more apparent from the planted trees along the street.

Ahhhhh, the colors of Spring.
But I must I disagree with my friends BP and JayG. I don't think it's a tractor, a particular plant or the infamous first Robin. No, it's the first AR of Spring. To the outdoor ranges we go!

Wow - green grass. We'll have that in another month (or two). And I, too, am looking forward to the first rifle range trip where my fingers DON'T go numb from the cold. That may be another month, too.
That said, your photos show an absolutely gorgeous part of the country. Thanks for letting us see.
Enjoy! :-)
...everything is continually brown here in Baghdad. The weather has been mostly pleasant though. I wish I could plant some tomatoes or something, but they'd just get choked by dust and die. Ah well, at least I have pretty blog pictures to look at :)
"The first AR of Spring." Heh.
But it's still better with bacon ...
Aaahhhh, yes, spring is here!
That's a good looking rifle have fun at the range!
I look for Harley-Davidson motorcycles on trailers.
So... much... green......
I'm jealous. Have fun. :)
Spring is great for shooting. And random nudity. Not at the same time.
Gee, Lady B, your gun looks like FUN!
And "The first AR of Spring"?
I LIKE IT!!
Jenny - it seemed like it turned bright green overnight really.
West By God - stay safe, and hurry back.
Borepatch - actually Sunday's Roast was marinated in Buinness for 25 hours, then rubbed with spices and garlic, wrapped in BACON, and then slow roasted at 250degress until it was "cut with a spoon" tender. With mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. I am no going to walk to Iowa and back to burn it off.
I'll post the recipe later in the week.
Carol - HI! Yes, it's my favorite of the AR's around here. Probably because it matches my Burberry Purse (just kidding).
John MXL - I think ALL of the guys I work with ride, and the parking lot is likely to be full of motorcyles in the morning.
When the chickens hunt bugs, and not scratch in earnest, finding comfort in the shade of a newly leafed trees' shade.

Where do i get seeds to plant one of those?
It's the #*$(&)#*(&Q POLLEN!
I have literally seen yellow fog in the last week. Where a pollen count above 120 is considered extreme, we're hitting 5000+.
Right now, I'd strip this land clean and pave it.
Argh!
I am openly envious: The six inches of snow we picked up this weekend is my comeuppance for being smug about the nice weather we had last month.
Jim
Ah yes.......AR's in the spring.
Methinks 10's and 15's.
Enjoy!

I'm openly envious too - but of your neighborhood. Looks like a beautiful area.
Pollen. The first sign of spring.
The recent rains knocked down the pine pollen here, but now it's the oak's turn.
What a beautifully lush neighborhood. I'd take the AR over grass any day.
