Some Things Just Go Together.

Adults and youngsters may have different ideas of things that go together. For instance .

Copper and Lead.
Han Solo and Princess Leia
But for adults and kids alike - Chocolate and Peanut Butter.

Peanut Butter Cup Dessert. You start with a dark chocolate cookie crust topped with a mousse made of whipping cream. peanut butter, cream cheese, vanilla and sugar, whipped light and fluffy.
Then, to top it, some melted semi sweet chocolate which will harden into a chocolate shell
Like this.

How could you resist.

Oh come on, take another small piece.
No one's going to notice that a few are missing .

Looks wonderful! Must try and thanks! You got my peanut butter in my chocolate and vice versa never looked better!

And off topic, but after 200 rounds in the "repaired" Kel-Tec P3-AT it is not looking promising.

I gained 5 pounds on the Guinness and Meat tour of Ireland, so I've been really good lately and had one bite of it. I had to slap my own hand to keep from eating more of it. The friends polished off the rest and it was well received. You could even not bake the crust and just let it chill well and make this as a totally "no bake" recipe in the summer.

That's one of the few of your recipes that I can easily resist. I have what some may consider an unnatural aversion to peanut butter. I've passed up eating meals entirely when all that was offered was PB&Js. Just something about it that I can't stand.

Funny thing is, I eat peanuts as a snack just fine.

Are those Black Talons? Or the newer, more pc name: Rangers?

Only 5 pounds? Must have been all the walking you were doing. Someday I'll go there, and I doubt I'll be able to keep it down to only 5 pounds. Something about my natural Irish love of meat and potatoes. In quantity.

Great combination!

I believe each generation likes the think that they alone have discovered all the things that are good. I remember the great advertising campaign for the Reese's Peanut Butter cups when I was a kid. Thought my generation had discovered that great combination. Last year I got a recipe from my mother-in-law for chocolate-peanut butter squares. Came from her mother-in-law, clipped from a Texas paper around 1931. The recipe is still easy, and good. Truly, nothing is new under the sun.

The only words that come to mind here are "Oh yes..yes, yes, yes." I could totally go for the no-bake option when it's 110 outside and almost 90 inside!

Someone asked about the chocolate wafer cookies (the comment was moderated but didn't show up here, maybe it was on another post by mistake).

Anyway. chocolate wafer cookies are available in grocery stores in the US. they're a thin crisp chocolate flavored cookie often used in recipes and made by Nabisco. They're a bit "lighter" and less sweet than the chocolate part of an Oreo and crush very fine. If you can't find them you could use oreas without the filling, or chocolate animal crackers or ochocolate graham crackers but they're worth a hunt to find.

I'm actually going to jump in and say that those rounds are Federal Hydra-Shoks. You can see the center posts.

Posts like this are why I drop large amounts of peanut butter into my chocolate chip cookies and brownies.

I can hear dieticians weeping at the thought of it, but I know for certain that I'd try it. Perhaps I'll make a little tiny one this weekend.
