You are running for re-election on the new and improved platform of "I support the Second Amendment" but you voted for the Assault Weapons Ban? Sorry, but I, for one, am NOT going to listen to you.
But they have photos of the candidate hunting birds, you know the one with the shotgun hung over the their elbow while sitting on the bed of a pickup truck, while wearing appropriate hunting garb.
Seriously, what more do you want???
Find me a candidate banging away on plates 1000 yards away with their OWN .50 cal Barrett , that might get my attention. Until then, they need to step away from the camera, put down their lifetime NRA membership card, and open up their safe and voting record to convince me they are legitimate.
Many forked tongue political weasels probably view their constituents just like this target: paper thin, unwilling or too stupid to listen and adhere to their misguided ideology and properly labeled and marked when the time comes to trample upon their constitutional rights.
There's a good argument that since the 2A mentions the importance of a well regulated militia, "Assault Weapons" should be mandatory, to make sure the populace is familiar with the style of weapons used by the military.
It makes more sense than what the banners say, anyway.
I live in Utah where Mitt Romney is almost deified. I ask my neighbors, what about the the issues that concern Utahns the most including abortion, homosexual marriage, and gun control? Romney's history is on the wrong side of those issues. He says he's changed. Maybe so, but remember that he's a politician with no proven track record on God's side of those issues. That said, he's certainly no worse than any other RINO. And, he might better than the impostor who currently resides in the Whitehouse. Maybe if he took a 4-day defensive handgun course, a tactical carbine course, and another course with full-auto guns, he'd have a little more credibility. I wrote Mitt with that suggestion. No answer.
If we truly want to insure democracy, we should do as Switzerland does, REQUIRE that every head of household and children over 18 have in their possession, a fully automatic weapon and 1000 rounds of ammo and be well qualified to use them! Oh I'm sure that there would be a few screwballs who would take this as a license to steal and kill, but they would be weeded out post haste. I'm doing my part fast as I can!

Remember in November and vote them ALL out!!! And I'd agree with leadchucker... :-)
Well, TX Gov. Rick Perry has done himself well this week using his carry pistol to defend his dog from a coyote.
That's a start.
If I get my own .50 cal Barrett can I run for office? I think I can do a good job, and I'll only do it for one term.
See Ya
