Dark Side Chocolate Cake with Coconut Pecan Icing
One pan for the cake, one pan for the icing. A dark and easy snack cake.
A few HOTR hints for a tall fluffy cake.
(1) Use the freshest ingredients available
(2) Have all your ingredients at room temperature before you start.
(3) If the recipe calls for greasing the pan as this one does, do NOT grease the sides. The cake needs something to hold on to to get a full rise for a tall light cake. Try greasing a pole and then try to shimmy your way to the top of it (not that I ever tried that or anything).

Oh... I WANT... I Love German Chocolate Cake!!! But, I'm on a diet, so all I can do is look (and drool)...
lol - it's been too long since I stopped by. Your side bar posts always make me smile. The cake looks delicious, as always. I'm being virtuous of late, trying to go gluten free and using less white sugar (blasted thyroid), so I have to live vicariously through your posts. ;-) Some stuff has been pretty tasty, other things, not so much.
I'm with NFO.
As a kid I always requested German Chocolate cake with coconut pecan icing for my birthday.
German Chocolate Cake is my absolute favorite. It is a real pain in the butt to make.....but the results.....mmmmmmmmmmm.
But what a naught image to see before 0600. LOL!!

Ahhhh I really am trying to lose weight. And I am really dying to make this cake. BTW I made your blueberry muffins a couple weeks ago and they were amazing. My dad honestly couldn't believe I made them from scratch! And your pie crust is the best I've ever had.

Excellent tip. Thanks.
