Saturday began as it usually does, with laundry before perhaps a trip to the gun range. It went downhill from there as I somehow managed to launder my cell phone while getting my hunting clothing ready for next week.
That followed my losing my only pair of glasses while on the road. I'm not saying I'm nearsighted, but my lenses can ignite an ant from fifty yards away.
I normally wear contacts but the glasses are nice for things like, you know, FINDING my contacts.
So much for seeing if anything was happening at the Conservation Club. I ordered new glasses and then drove all the way into the city to the phone store. A new one cost me almost $200 (no insurance) but they threw in blue tooth for the hands free thing, some other free accessories and a $50 rebate form.

All that's left was plugging in my ring tones after the drive home. I have two actually, both on the poll, one for general purposes and one just for when my best friend calls me. i'll let you all guess what it might be.
The ringtones are set, it's a Saturday, my best friend is on the phone and there's home made Vanilla filled Dark Chocolate Eclairs cooling on the counter. (Recipe in the sidebar). I think the day is looking AND sounding much brighter.

Just one of those days, huh. :\
Been there.

I'm a huge ZZ Top fan, but the rest of those choices are seriously disturbing.
Bummer. Before all the "advances" in assembly technology you could have taken it apart and dried it out thoroughly and gotten it working.
Carol - I'm a ZZ Top fan too and find it odd that you don't include "La Grange" as being disturbing too among those choices. :-)
Muskrat Love...really? I just know that you have Superfreak programmed in especially for me :-)
Miss you.
For backup glasses, check out Zennioptical.com.
Cheap enough you can have a pair in every drawer, vehicle, and bag you own.
I wasn't faulting the musical quality of "La Grange" just questioning whether Carol really new the subject matter of the song but having looked at her page maybe she does.
Those eclairs look fabulous.
Your best friend is a very lucky person.
I broke several of my glasses when my kid, then baby did a swipe at me. IIRC I changed the lenses at least twice.
Its a good idea to keep a pair of old/spare glasses in the car. Since you fly, maybe in the luggage.
Sorry about the phone. I'd empathize more but I'm a little busy ogling those eclairs!

My biggest concern with that first pic is that the Ruger appears precariously perched on top of that appliance thing.
Ringtone on my ancient phone - Crazy on You.
Hmm, glasses. Me for closeup, Gail for, uh... everything. Met her downstairs after a late night with friends. After being married to her for 30+, I know when there's problems within a 2 second glance.
This was one of those days. Gulp.
Said she didn't know whether to have me take her to the ER and call an neurologist or ophthalmologist, as she could only focus one eye. She was trying to self diagnosis and getting worried.
Glasses off, both same...glasses on, only one eye focused.
I put the glasses back on her, and had her close her bad eye. Then slightly touched her eyelid. She lost the lens in the car....
Heh.
Thunderstruck!
B,
Those eclairs...
Those eclairs...
I wonder if they would get here in one piece?
I'm guessing Bryan Adams for sure, and the other hmmm...

Ever heard the ringtone from Out Man Flint? I have it but no one gets the humor and just look at me funny.
I've run old IBM keyboards through the dishwasher to get the crud off of them with excellent results, but, as long as a battery is in a cell phone, even the device is "off", it will continue to run and process signals from the towers in a low power state.
No one has to apply for an FCC license to operate a cell phone because the transmitter is *always* under the control of the carrier. If you're into being concerned about privacy, the implications of the wireless standards are kinda scary -- just ask OJ.
Well, after staring at those eclairs I treated the family and made them.
Oh, were they delicious and EASY to make.
DD: "Did you get this recipe on the internet?"
Me: "Yes, it was on a blog I read."
DD: "We should keep this one."
Thanks for the recipe. They want me to make them for Thanksgiving.
I thought I'd try a dinner version by stuffing them with mushrooms, onions, spinach and feta. Cooked or raw would probably be good.
Excellent choices for ringtones (yeah, I got La Grange right away, come on, who didn't see that? One of the lines in the song talks about that "Home out on the Range" after all).
I'm not usually a big Kid Rock fan, but I really like his new one, Born Free.
