I put in a full work day, starting well before light, and then cleaned the Range top to bottom, inside and out with the help of a coworkers wife (with a team like mine, we're like family). I left some new cleaning supplies, paper towels, TP, bottled water, light bulbs and garbage bags for the new owners, in case they forgot. (We close Thursday and they want to move in that day, as they are out of their current place the last day of the month.)
It made for a VERY long day and I just got home.UPDATE: Closing has been moved to Friday late. No problems just some paperwork that didn't get to the underwriter quickly..
Now, time for some music, then sleep.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference.

I hope everything goes well.
Light at the end of the tunnel. Champagne, at the least.
Or equivalent...
Champagne?!? Hell, go for the gusto! Sno-Balls!!!
Sleep well. :)
I hope it all falls into place. It is a very stressful activity. Very thoughtful of you to leave easily forgotten yet essential supplies for the new owners.
Sleep well!
You're on the home stretch. Hope the closing goes without a hitch.
You've earned a good night's sleep.
Good luck - we know what you're going through.
I'd recommend a blood orange juice margarita and a soak in that new tub.
It's the little things that set some apart from others. Your thoughtfulness in leaving a few essentials for the new owners is a perfect example. All humans can be divided into two subgroups, givers and takers. You, dear Brigid, are definitely a giver. Yet another reason so many of us hang around here. :-)
Brigid,
You continue to amaze me as a very classy, compassionate woman. Well done!

Hope your giving your foot a rest, and all goes smoothly with closing.
Funny about the supplies, I did the same when we sold our house.
There are changes and they bring thoughts of tomorrow made yesterday. In closing a top of the day to ya and tilt a brew of delite on the buds of taste.
Every time I've moved out of a house or apartment I've always doe one last walk through to "make sure nothing gets left behind". In reality I'm telling the place goodbye. I find I do the same with cars that have done me no wrong,it's kind of bittersweet.
Did you leave them "Incandescent" Light bulbs? That could turn out to be a princley gift indeed if the current regime has it's way with Light fixtures... :)
No reports of any mushroom clouds, so I'm assuming that the contractor got things done.
Glad to know you're in the home stretch.
I'll toast the sale with a Guinness at my regular Thursday night at the pub!
Robert Frost quote warms an old Yankee's heart - and so true - ...miles to go before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep...
Ah, TP, the first thing you need in a new place and often enough the last thing you can find :-) You're kind to leave the new owners out of that predicament.

Jim - and the TP was fresh on the hangar with a spare on the top of the seat. I couldn't help but think of the lyrics from that old old TV show (I think it was, I wasn't born yet, saw it in reruns.).
Branded scorned is the one who ran
What do you do when you're branded and you know you're a man?
Wherever you go for the rest of your life you must prove you're a man
And my mind went to
What do you do when you're stranded
On the toilet bowl,
and you've got no roll. . . .
I'm sorry to hear that the closing was delayed.
It means waiting, but it WILL happen.
Good night, sweet princess ;)
