July 4 - Preserving What is Important to Protect What is Dear

My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings
they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!
~Thomas Jefferson

Count every blessing my friends, people have lost their lives and hearts to protect what you hold dear.

The cute grandboy is the generation we need to hold in our arms, to lift up, to teach what we have all toiled to learn.

Amen, Lady - if we don't remind folks why it's important, there will soon come a day when no one at all remembers.

Amen to all. Find a Vet tomorrow, and thank him or her. Without their service, you might not have the day off to grill burgers and brats.

The American Revolutionary War of Independence was not an exercise in "the possible." A majority of Americans thought it was impossible to resist the King's Officers and win colonial freedom in 1776. The Declaration of Independence was an act of treason, punishable by death. Hit the books for a snap quiz. How many signers of the Declaration were put to death or imprisoned, their fortunes destroyed, their families punished? What was the total civilian economic price of freedom in 1776? How many years did we fight a Revolutionary War? How many were killed in battle because Thomas Paine correctly predicted victory and rightly demanded action?

Oh, what darling images you have here today. :)

Yes, our country is precious, but so many are fighting against it from without and within.

We have to win both fights.
