Why I Support the Second Amendment

I support the Second Amendment as it supports what our country was founded on, the means in which as patriots, we can protect and defend. The true measure of the patriot is steadfastness. We all have small moments of wanderlust in us, tearing off on paths that others may not follow, testing limits, testing ourselves. That is the nature of man. Yet when we strive to hold true, to stand firm to our beliefs as free men and women, as a group, to carry our weapons and defend our land and our homes, the weak become strong, and the wandering hold together as one. For then we are united in something much greater than the elemental whims of mankind. Together as patriots we are much more of the courageous and less of the selfish, we become brothers in arms, one household at a time.

  1. You got it! We all have a right to self defense. The 2A acknowledges that right.

  4. B.,

Well said! When you say things like: "For then we are united in something much greater than the elemental whims of mankind. Together as patriots we are much more of the courageous and less of the selfish, we become brothers in arms, one household at a time." I can only agree.

The fact that this medium ties many from diverse occupations, locations, and religions (or not) together is truly profound.

Since I have been Blogging I have met (figuratively speaking) so many great people (and jerks too).

I am truly humbled by anyone that stumbles by my Blog.

And for you, a quote: "There is no instinct like that of the heart."- Lord Byron

  6. Brigid,
    Nail. Head.
    Outstanding.
Getting close to deer hunting season. A crisp wind, squirrels rustling through paper dry oak leaves bringing in the winters store and the hills surrounding my home ring from the report of my neighbors rifles being zeroed. Sweet Fall, Sweet Freedom.

  8. Amen girl. I love your post. One of our nieghbors is talking about getting their carry permit, the other doesn't even own a gun. On Veteran's Day evening a nieghbor behind us shot off a few rounds & did fireworks... I just loved it & thought they must be veterans themselves. We value our rights deeply.

    Have a GREAT day!

I started this blog so the child I gave up for adoption could get to know me, and in turn, her children, as well as share stories for a family that lives too far away. So please keep it friendly and kid safe. Posts that are only a link or include an ad for an unknown business automatically to to SPAM..
