Canine Aerodynamics

50 mph winds at home tonight.  I'd like to stay in but I have a pet.

Just think . . . . . Control Line Labrador Retriever.   (No!  No! Barkley, elevator UP, trim, then drop the cargo load!)

You all stay safe out there, this is a nasty storm.

  1. I hope all stays well up there.

Winds here and cold front coming.

I assume Barkley is not equipped with a Cox .049 engine right? If so he can take a finger off while you attempt to start him!

  2. Keep your head down, friend, and make sure Barkley's lead is dogged down good & tight.

  3. Boy... that brings back memories... flying Cox engine powered line-controled P-51D Mustangs and other balsa wood model aircraft...

    Be safe Brigid and Barkley...

  4. Winds are in the light to heavy cattle range here too. Hubby blocked the attic gable end vents yesterday so that we don't have to shovel inside as well.

Do you have lots of snow there too? It is good that Barkley is black; it is more difficult to lose him in a snowbank that way.

  14. The power was still on this a.m. a concern with such high winds but the snow is only about 2-3 inches.

    Off to work!

I chuckled at the airplane comments. My first RC , when I was in grade school, was one of those little 2 servo (I think) ones, that would break apart when you crashed it. I painted it light blue. No stripes. It took off "Weeeeeeeeeee" There is goes. "Weeeeeeeeeeeee" Where IS it? Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" Damn!" WeeeeeeeeSPLAT" When rebuilt it got a bright stripe so I could actually SEE itr,

  15. Saw the weather forecast and pics online - We have clear skies and colder weather in Kandahar.

Glad you are able to hunker down (other than Sir Barkley's need to visit outside)

A white Christmas will be had by many across your neck of the woods.

  17. "Drop the cargo load" is my new favorite euphemism for taking a crap.

  19. Borepatch - thank you for proving that one indeed can snort Jamison out one's nose in a room with several "holiday scented" candles, without causing thermal burn injuries.
