ReplyDeleteThank you - I was so happy to get this wrapped up for my Dad to read as his days are few right now. It's fiction, but many of the names in the book are based on family members, even if their characters in the book are completely different.

It poured hard all day so I didn't make it to the post office to mail any today, but Dad's was overnighted yesterday. The book appears shorter than TBOB, but it's the same number of words. The printing formatting is different.

Yes, I put off doing #3 but I had so many people asking that I write another one, I just hunkered down and got it done while my Dad is still alive. This one meant a lot to him,

I bought Saving Grace but then loaned it to my mum unread since my little brother was adopted. She loved it and is planning on a copy for her brother, who adopted three. Now I'm reading it and thoroughly enjoying it. Loved your writing since i found your blog. Once i get through it (and a few others in the pending stack) I'll have to pick up the new one. Have you thought about organizing an Amazon blitz where all your fans buy a copy on one day to bump the shirt term standings and get you a little PR? I'd certainly participate if i knew in advance.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, but I found that when TBOB was published, even with a launch to my "fans" less than 100 copies were purchased in the first month, even with 50,000 hits a week on my blog and a large twitter following. Same for Saving Grace. Small Town Roads, sold less than 2 dozen copies in its first 24 hours (and bless you all that did!) It was only when I was a featured author in Kirkus Review dead tree version Magazine, concurrently with being in the San Francisco Times with five star reviews that TBOB took off and went number one. I truly appreciate all of you that did buy copies and gave it a good review (which the blog trolls are always ready to do) but it wasn't enough to make a big dent in the sales numbers. This will likely be my last book.
