Book Update - A book blurb review from a very well-known author

The manuscript of Book #3 is off to the publisher.  Here is the photograph for the cover art (taken on the way to a blog meet).  The name of the book is Small Town Roads, and it's being published by a large Christian publisher. Two authors I deeply admire,  Katie Andraski and John L Moore are doing a beta read of the first draft to write a blurb for the back cover if they have time. Since I was blessed enough that my first two books both went to #1 at Amazon, my new publisher is going to work hard to get it out by Christmas.

This was a true leap of faith for me.  Non-fiction was easy - fiction, not so much, but once I got the story idea in mind, and simply prayed about it, it flowed, but it was much more of an effort than my first two books.

Update:  John sent his book blurb - I will likely do a condensed version due to spacing  but this just made my whole evening.  I absolutely love his series of Western novels (being a Montana Rancher he knows what he is talking about) and am in awe of all the literary recognition he has received for his many books including winning the 2015 Will Rogers Medallion Award for Western Fiction.
"I first became aware of L.B. Johnson when her blog was recommended to me by a friend. I was astonished by her writing, photography, mystery, and force of personality. I was not surprised when her non-fiction work found success, but I was surprised when she decided to tackle fiction. Through Small Town Roads she’s carved out another niche with her distinctive grasp of what is true, vital, and pure. Small Town Roads is kind, gentle, poetic, but grippingly bittersweet in the meeting and meshing of the times and values of two distinctly different — but so much the same — women in a small American town. L.B. Johnson is a writer to watch for tomorrow, but she is also someone to enjoy today."
- John L. Moore — award-winning novelist and journalist, author of The Breaking of Ezra Riley and other novels.

  1. Congrats B, you are the quintessential American Success worked for what you have, and proved a person can make success out of hardship! I look forward to reading the book :)

  2. Congratulations! But no surprise here...

  3. That is a wonderful summation, and high praise. Deservedly so, might I add.

  4. Congratulations! Cannot wait to read it.

  5. ...true, vital, and pure. That is the most wonderful endorsement EVER! :o)

    1. I couldn't be happier. It likely will not be my best seller, but it is the one I am most proud of.

I started this blog so the child I gave up for adoption could get to know me, and in turn, her children, as well as share stories for a family that lives too far away. So please keep it friendly and kid safe. Posts that are only a link or include an ad for an unknown business automatically to to SPAM..
