Old AFSarge - Thank you, it was. The buns are "Pretzel rolls" which are briefly boiled before baking to get that unique Pretzel colored top that's dusted with course salt. I've made them but these were on sale at our local Polish bakery/store which has a GREAT butcher. They were simple - seasoned with red and black pepper, and topped with garlic mayo and a thick slice of extra sharp cheddar, deli macaroni salad, carrots and cookie bars for dessert.
Brighid - this was our first of the year. We try and grill every Saturday we're both home during the summer, burgers, chicken, salmon, veggies and fruits - all have been grilled.
I'm heading back to Indy to go on call at Midnight. I hate this drive, but it's only for a couple more years.
Rev Paul - We're the family that has the Victrola in the living room so what can I saw. Dad LOVES his grill now that's he's older and was out grilling corn on the cob the other night (with his nurses aide)
I started this blog for family far away and to share my life and writing with friends. Comments are welcome but please treat this place as you would visiting any friend. I want everyone to feel at home here. If you post advertising for a business or service and I do NOT know you, it will be reported as SPAM. Don't even bother.
The new DroolGard on my keyboard works very well!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that looks delicious.
Looks so yummy. I have sorely missed having a BBQ to cook on in the summertime.

A grilled burger is known to cure most any mental disorder. Unfortunately, the effects only last as long as the burgers.
ReplyDeleteLooks oh-so-good. We miss having a charcoal fire to cook over; the gas grill does ... well, okay, but it's not the same.
ReplyDeleteJess - I would agree! Thanks for stopping.
