Gosh, we had a TV like that. Ah, the memories of all of us watching it at once. Not many channels and only one TV so we had to agree on what to watch. :)
I've been telling folks for years that they should take that one-eyed monster out of their living rooms, to a distance of say, 300 yards, and use it for target practice.
Any more, that would serve a more useful purpose to your mental processes than to sit in front of the thing and listen to the useless pablum that the lame stream media is spewing out at you.
I had that TV :) I actually liked the Console TV Concept....in its day before flat screens. Now the Contender I could never get into, single shot specialty pistols just never tripped my trigger, I like the Multi-shot variety :) Though it was fun to occasionally shoot my dads TC
If the TV still works and is located within driving distance of PDX, one of the local retro gaming fanatics would probably pay decent money for the set.
I've seen this show double in size every year since we've lived here.
I remember well the first time I saw contender and thought "why?" then I thought "Why not" thirty five years later I am still shooting them. Don't knock them unless you've tried them.

I started this blog for family far away and to share my life and writing with friends. Comments are welcome but please treat this place as you would visiting any friend. I want everyone to feel at home here. If you post advertising for a business or service and I do NOT know you, it will be reported as SPAM. Don't even bother.
For the left, the TV is the weapon...

ReplyDeleteVery difficult to differentiate the two as they will both turn the targeted audiences brains into mush...
ReplyDeleteLove my contender, 7-30 Waters and drive tacks all day when I do my part.

The TV is more fun to shoot!

ReplyDeleteLois - my Dad was stationed in Germany twice. Not only did we have only one TV, we had only one American channel!

I like my Wichita better. It doesn't bust one's knuckles like a Contender will.
