Night Off - With Ending and UPDATE

I finished Saving Grace after a 10 hour writing marathon yesterday.  It was written half at my crash pad (above) and half at my old house, both places sparking memories.

At 56 Chapters and about 70,000 words-I'm pretty tired and will be working with Gigi, my very talented new editor over the next month on my "free range commas" and such-- so posting and comments will  continue to be light with some old posts coming up for the new readers. Thanks for supporting me through this and for your support of the Book of Barkley-- #7 in sales for genre at Amazon right now.

UPDATE:  Got written notice today that The Book of Barkley is a Finalist at the Bookbzz.com 2015  International Prize Writer Competition in "Biography and Memoir". The  Final Winner will be determined by popular vote so I'll put that info up when voting starts Feb. 1.  There's some serious prize money (which will be donated to dog rescue) but even better--the winners names and books are televised on World Book Day 5th March 2015.

  6. Yes, but "free range commas" are better because they are not pumped full of chemicals.

    Thank you.

  7. Thanks everyone - it didn't get written in 10 hours, just the last few chapters, I've been working on this since mid September. With work, family and caring for Dad, it's left little time to be social so thanks for understanding I'm not visiting many blogs during the process and emails are light to non existent.

  10. I feel like a starving man desperately in need of ANY food, but wanting only a Prime Rib! And starve I will, until my "main meal" presents itself! Success to you, and a quick publication date!

  11. Yay for your completing this round of writing! Thinking good thoughts as you progress through the editing phase, and hope you take some down time for yourself. Look forward to this next book, and thank you for sharing...

  12. Jane - thank you, as always for your support and friendship. Sorry, I've been so busy working on this project and haven't dropped by to say hello much.

Merle - I play piano and violin (one very well, one very badly). If I sing cats gather on the porch so a career in music wasn't an option.

Murphy AZ - I will get some proper posts up soon, this really zapped all my time and attention creativity wise.

Andie - this book was written for my daughter - I don't know if it will be popular but I wanted her to have it.

Everyone: Blogger is being funny. All the blogs I follow disappaeared from the page where they show up and it says I'm not following anyone. Others have complained their comments didn't show up. There was only one comment I deleted that involved Muslims and I told the person why I didn't post it (not wishing to be a target for backlash, even if meant in jest), but apparently there have been other folks comments just go "poof" and no one has been to SPAM in forever. So let me know if you can if you see continued issues.

I started this blog so the child I gave up for adoption could get to know me, and in turn, her children, as well as share stories for a family that lives too far away. So please keep it friendly and kid safe. Posts that are only a link or include an ad for an unknown business automatically to to SPAM..
