Hope you all have a good Thanksgiving. I'm taking the holiday off from blogging. I'm sort of fed up with the human race right now and going to take some time off from the internet.
On a plus side, I've learned one good thing through this tough year: who my friends really are. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
Brigid, enjoy your time off, with Partner and Abby. Wish your dad a happy Thanksgiving from us here at Casa Monkeywrangler. Stay safe, but unwind from stress. You already know who and what is important in your life, so relish in their company. Their presence (physical, long distance, or spiritual) will be a balm to your soul.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Take time to enjoy yourself. Be with family and friends. We'll be here when you get back.
ReplyDeleteI hope it gets better soon! When things turn to crap is when you find out who your true friends are!

You deserve some time off for all the entertainment you have provided hundreds of us through your blog. After today, I"m off work for the next five days so I'm hoping to start the Book of Barkley. . . I know, I've had every intention of sitting down with it long before now. But Life 101 always manages to get in the way.
ReplyDeleteMay you and partner in grime have a quiet and blessed Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly understand taking a break from the flood of depressing news. Enjoy family and have a blessed Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHappy Turkey Day B, and yeah Im kinda disgusted with "Humans" today as well. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteHave a good turkey day, forget about all the crap going on and just enjoy the holiday give Abby a big hunk of turkey and relax.
ReplyDeleteWishing you, partner in grime, and Abby a very happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteAlso, please give your dad my condolences for the Vikings loss on Sunday. At least they did better than the Bears.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the down time.
ReplyDeleteIf it is any consolation, you are in good company; the prophet Jeremiah, for example.
ReplyDeleteI consider you a first class Blogging-Avenger My Friend. Recharge your batteries. Give your dad and partner your best, undivided you. We can hold down the fort until you are ready to come back.
Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI've had my fill of humanity, especially the Community Organizer in Chief (He didn't just turn Ferguson into a campaign speech, did he?), the racial profiteers, every dang media talking headhole, and especially Gov. Jay (Dumber Than Dirt) Nixon.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm feeling better considering how much the human gene pool would improve if all the maroons in Guy Fawkes masks were sterilized. In various, interesting ways...
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
You deserve a break. Enjoy your time away from things to recuperate.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to a upbeat song by Jerry Reed and the Dixie Dance Kings that you might enjoy. I'll bet there's more than a few here that remember the movie! :)

Thank you everyone - I'm actually working not enjoying time off, I get Thursday off, but that's it. Partner will be at his parents.
ReplyDeleteI'm just burned out from long hours, budget cuts, many flights back and forth to Dad's, juggling the checkbook to pay that extra 5 grand a month for his care and trying to do the author thing and promote the book while organizing the proceeds going to animal charities that care (yes, I can use the money but I committed to animal rescue with this first book and I'm not backing down).
Rats - I'm sorry to hear that. It's not the holiday break we were hoping you would be enjoying. I sure hope things smooth out for you.
ReplyDeleteOK, since you can't unplug, imagine, if you will, of a 450 hp Pratt and Whitney radial bolted to the front of a Stearman "tow-plane" rolling down the runway towards the windsock that's about 1/4 way down and pulling stick to do a 90 degree vertical at the windsock... and roaring up into the clouds. yep, it was used to tow gliders in the Wilkes Barre area back in the middle 70's.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't the same as 4 days off in a row, but it is a distraction.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours (two- and four-legged)! Been taking a news, FB, and blogging break, because I too am sick and tired of the stupidity that abounds in this country. Here's to being thankful for friends and family and the many blessings we can all count ourselves lucky to have. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWe had Thanksgiving last Sunday, tomorrow we're having leftovers and no hassles or cleanup.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYou know i aways say you find out who your friends are when you go into hospital for a while and tell nobody were you are some people you never regauded as friends come and visit you as they were worried when they missed you being about and those you thought of as friends never turn up.
ReplyDeleteBrigid, God bless you and yours. Remember the Lord never gives us more than we can handle!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Brigid~
ReplyDeleteI hope your break allows you to spend some really great time with Partner and Abbey and come back feeling as though all is right with your world! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
